Due to the boiler not functioning at The Black Drop, they are closed for the next few days. Just thought I’d let you all know.
The Jinx Art-space is holding a holiday bazaar this coming Saturday, and I have a table reserved for us there. It’s technically a Grass Dog Studio table, but I’ll sell anything created by the Bellingham School of Comics.
Reply to this if you have any finished goods you’d like me to push on unsuspecting ‘Hamsters!
As it is, I hope to have books, posters, greeting cards, calendars (crossing fingers on this one) and some music CDs.
Diamond Comic Distributors is going to sleep for a week at the end of December. Tiptoeing around its slumbering arse like an Odysseus in the night, or a Goldilocks in the day,* Indy Comic Week will fill Wednesday not with oiled up mainstream titles, but the sweaty fruits of indy labor!
You don’t have anything better to do than finish a new comic specifically for this purpose. (I promise, I’ve seen you.) This should be our anti-New Year’s goal, to be fulfilled before this year runs away crying from all the repeated abuse and semi-toxic cafeteria food.
Someone was talking about another 24-hour comics binge. Perhaps we can do it with the intent to bind and publish our crap masterpieces and distribute it that golden last Wednesday of 2009.
However you finish your offerings to the Goddess of Opportunism, good luck with it, and have fun!
* I guess it just depends on whether we plan on poking out their eye with our comics, or using our comics to shovel all their porridge into our greedy gullets.
I just recieved an email from the guy running the convention and he says they have sold out of tables…
On Monday I will be returning everyone’s money.
This is very sad annoying news.

So, I saw a bunch of internet people posting about 24 hour comics day and realized we had missed it this year. No reason we can’t do our own, though! Who’s interested in sitting down and doing a ‘jam’ and what kind of scheduling (like what day of the week) would work best for you? I’m thinking possibly it might be good to have a more casual one where there’s a dedicated space for it, but people can drop in and out depending on what their schedule is. Let me know if you have any ideas, possible places to do it or other thoughts.
